Aston, PA-Sophomore Sean Cryer scored a goal and an assist in the Knights 3-2 loss to SUNY Geneseo at the Ice Works Quad rinks in Aston, Pennsylvania.
Geneseo hit the net first as Mike MacDonald received a pass from Mitch Stephens on a capitalizing on a Geneseo power play to put the Ice Knights up 1-0. Neumann rallied back scoring two consecutive power play goals to take a 2-0 lead. Cryer scored the first goal of the season for the Knights at the 14:35 mark with assists from Neil Trimm and newcomer Josh Gaynor. Cryer's goal tied the game, sending the teams into intermission at 1-1.
The Knights second goal of the night came 5:12 into the second period, as Rookie Mike Hedden hit the top left corner of the net past SUNY Geneseo's Jeff Pasemko. Geneseo came back seven minutes later to tie the contest at 2-2. Neumann continued to out shoot Geneseo (26-19) but it was the Ice Knights' Matt Caren who scored the third and final goal of the night to give SUNY Geneseo their third win of the season.
Goaltender Brett Leonhardt had 16 saves in net for the Knights while Jeff Pasemko stopped 24 for the Ice Knights of Geneseo.
Up next the Knights will travel to Cortland, New York for a battle the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons on Friday beginning at 7:00 p.m.
