CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Neumann College scored four third-period goals, three on the power play, to skate past SUNY Cortland, 6-3, in their first road game of the season Tuesday night.
Freshman Jesse Cole (Stratford, ON/Stratford Cullitons) led the Knights with his first two career goals, while sophomores Mike Gooch (Mantua, NJ/OCN Blizzard), Jeff Nuttall (Campbell River, BC/Humboldt Broncos), and freshmen Mike Hedden (St. Catherines, ON/Thorold Blackhawks) and Josh Gaynor (Goderich, ON/Stratford Cullitons) added a goal and an assist each to give the Knights their first win of the season.
Freshman Liam Johnson (Kitchener, ON/Waterloo Siskins) made 16 saves to earn his first career win in goal.
Neumann out shot Cortland, 36-19, and converted 4-of-13 power plays overall.
