Neumann captured their first win of the season with a 1-1 weekend split with SUNY Cortland in Cortland, New York. The Knight fell 2-1 to the Red Dragons on Friday but returned to the ice on Saturday reversing the score on SUNY Corland, recording a 2-1 win.
Freshman Jenelle Marier was selected as the first star of the game while goalie Teresa White was awarded the second star for her stellar maneuvers inside the pipes. White stopped 19 saves for the Knights in the 2-1 victory.
Carly Fitzsimmons scored her first non-exhibition goal of the season in the eighth minute of the first period off a feed from Jenelle Marier and Kaitlin Hein. Cortland tied the game twelve minutes into the second period sending both teams into the final intermission at 1-1.
