The Neumann Knights traveled to Reading, Pennsylvania on Tuesday night for a non-conference match-up, taking on the Lions of Penn State Berks.
The Knights took control of the game from the opening tap and outscored the Lions by 14. After a slow start, the Lions fought back to cut the Knights' lead and were winning by six at halftime. During halftime, Coach Farnese took some time to refocus his players in the locker room, stating "as a team we are losing focus of our team principles. We have to think before we react and make good decisions on the offensive and defensive ends". Neumann came out strong in the second half to regain control of the contest. Led by Kylynn McNichol (Academy of Notre Dame/Havertown, PA) who scored two 3-point shots, and Nellie Mixon (West Catholic/Philadelphia,PA) who shot six of eight from the field, the Knights we able to make it two in a row on the season.
The Knights were led by Kirsten Patton, who shot 11 for 15 from the field and three for four from the foul line scoring a team high of 25 points. Mixon also contributed to the Knights' victory with four steals and 23 points. Syreeta Brown scored nine points and grabbed seven boards. Kim Hinkle added seven points and six rebounds.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, November 26, 2005 when they will travel to Widener University in a non-conference match-up.
