The Neumann Knights continue their successes in the ECAC West, recording their second conference win and their sixth win overall on the 2005-2006 season. Neumann Knights Neil Trimm and Jesse Cole scored a goal each in the 2-1 win in Elmira, New York. Kyle Casey, Sean Cryer, and Jeff Nuttall were each credited with an assist in the Knights 2-1 triumph over the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College on Saturday.

 

The Knights were out-shot 41-29, but Neumann net-minder Mike Collichio was stellar in between the pipes, shutting out the Soaring Eagles in the first two periods of play. The Knights went up 2-0 after Trimm scored at the 9:44 mark of the first period and Jesse Cole capitalized on a Knights power-play at the 14:32 mark of the second period to record the game winner. The Soaring Eagles were able to place one between the pipes at the 13:10 mark of the third period but it wasn't enough as Neumann skates over Elmira 2-1.

 

The win moves the Knights to 6-4-0 while Elmira falls to 3-5-0. The Knights will return to action on Friday, December 9, when the will host SUNY Fredonia in a non-conference match up at 7:00 p.m.
