Allentown, PA - Neumann College scored a goal late in the second half to post a 1-0 PAC Conference women's soccer victory over Cedar Crest College on Tuesday afternoon in Allentown, PA. The win improves the Knights to 4-1-1 overall and 1-0 in the PAC while the Falcons slip to 0-5 overall.
The lone goal of the match came at the 85:45 mark of the second half when Jess Kempa (Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame) was granted a free kick from 45 yards our. Kempa placed the ball down the middle, spilt between two falcon defender. Teammate Casey Geary (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) took full advantage of the situation, depositing the ball in the bottom left hand corner of the net for a 1-0 Knights lead.
Knights goalkeeper Kelsey Toomey (Laurel Springs, NJ/Highland), who came in for starting goalkeeper Elizabeth Raiburn (Strath Haven/Wallingford, PA) would make the goal stand up as she stopped all four shots she faced to notch the pair their second straight shared shutout win in net.
Neumann held an 11-5 shots advantage over the Falcons. The Knights also gained a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday when they host Cabrini College at 2:00 p.m.
