Box Score

Aston, PA- Neumann fell 4-1 to the Monarch's of King's College in a non-conference match up this afternoon.

After a scoreless 26 minutes, the Knights found themselves down 1-0 due to the efforts of King's Suzanne Thompson who scored off a pass from teammate Lindsay Sabo at 26:28 into the first half. Neumann's Michelle Coderre (Freehold, NJ/Manalapan) evened things up two-minutes later with a quick flick past King's goalkeeper making it 1-1. The Knights offense however could not match that of the Monarchs, as King's College scored two more goals before the half expired.

Defensively for the Knights sophomore Chelsea Ward (Willingboro, NJ/Rancocas Valley) had 33 saves in the cage and Abi Bilski (East Earl, PA/Lancaster Catholic), Samantha Lafferty (Glenolden, PA/Interboro), and Brandy McCreary (West Chester, PA/West Chester Henderson) combined for three defensive on the day. Unfortunately, Neumann continued to struggle in the offensive zone. The Monarchs went onto score one more in the second half handing the Knights a 4-1 loss.

Neumann will return to the field in competitive play on Thursday, September 15, 2005 when they host PAC rival Gwynedd Mercy College at 4:00 p.m.
