Aston, Pa. - Junior Sarah Tomlinson (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic) earned the first of two match victories for the Knights, but it wasn't enough as the team fell to Gwynedd Mercy College College 7-2 on Monday.

 

Tomlinson in number one singles won the two set affair over Kerin Knox of Gwynedd Mercy 6-4, 6-3. Teammate Ashley Miller (Newark, DE/Newark) outlasted GMC's Danielle Tyler 6-3, 6-1 in number two singles to win the Knights their second and final point of the afternoon.

 

In the doubles category sophomore Katie Nell (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) teamed up with newcomer Shamira Cannon (Chester, PA /The Christian Academy) in number two doubles. It was the first time the two had been paired together and Nell's first time at a high position. Both athletes showed themselves very well on the courts however, GMC's Lynn Boben and Shelly Rosenberger over powered the duo who fell 8-3 to Griffins.

 

Knights will travel to Allentown, PA to face off against Cedar Crest College on September 23.  The contest is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
