Reading, PA -Junior Jessie Titus (Leesport, PA/Schuylkill Valley) scored the only goal of the day to lift the PAC front runner Alvernia College to a 1-0 win over Neumann College Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference field hockey action.

 

The Alvernia tally came before most people had settled into their seats just 56 seconds into play.  The Knights countered, mounting several other good scoring opportunities but could not convert.  Neumann's Andrea White (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) made a sprawling defensive save preventing Alvernia's Megan Novogratz (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic),who fired at an empty net late in the second half, from extending the Crusaders lead.

           

Alvernia held a 13-5 advantage in shots and earned 11 corners to Neumann's six in the PAC contest. Neumann sophomore Chelsea Ward (Willingboro, NJ/Rancocas Valley) made six saves in net for the Knights.
