The Neumann Knights defeated ECAC West rival Lebanon Valley College 9-2 in men's ice hockey action at the Ice Works Quad Rinks in Aston, Pennsylvania Friday evening. Neumann was led by Erik Stoyanvich, with 1 goal and three assists, and Mike Hedden who scored two goals, including the game winner, in the Knights 9-2 triumph.

Neumann took an early lead when Stoyanvich took a shot from the point for a 1-0 Knights lead at 4:49 in to the first period. Lebanon Valley, unable to score in the first period, recorded their first point of the nights on a power-play goal in the 5th minute of the second period, making it a 1-1 game. Neumann's Neil Trimm answered back, just four minutes later, breaking up an LVC power play at 9:23. Stoyanvich and Kyle Casey were credited with the assist on the short handed goal. Neumann's net minder Mike Collichio stopped 22 LVC shots but did allow Jeff Smith to slide one in between the pipes at the 11:07 mark. Justin Todd and Jarred Frey assisted on the play, closing out the second period 3-2 Neumann.

Mike Hedden started what would be a third period, six-goal run for the Knights scoring a  wrist shot on the Knights 5th power play opportunity of the night. Dayne Bihn and Casey provided the assists on the eventual game winner at the 18:43 mark. From that point on the Knights never looked back as Neumann went on to score five more goals closing out the first of the two-game weekend series against the Dutchmen 9-2.
