SCRANTON, PA - After ending the first half down four, the Neumann Knights used an early second half run, and then multiple free-throws and three-pointers to take home the win.
The two teams battled back and forth for most of the first half with the Pacers taking the lead several times. However, Neumann answered each time with a three-pointer, including two from Syreeta Brown and two from Kylynn McNichol to keep things competitive into the second half.
McNichol continued her scoring streak into the second stanza, knocking down two more three-pointers as Neumann reclaimed the lead. From there, Nellie Mixon sealed the game on the charity stripe, knocking down 10 of 15 chances. Marywood tried to rally late, but after each basket, they were forced to foul and were unable to cut into the Neumann lead.
Mixon led the Knights with 18 points on the night, while Ashley Leonard had 15, McNichol 14 and Kirsten Patton 12. The Knights moved to 7-9 (5-2 PAC) on the year. Marywood's Brudnok and teammate Caity Hadzimichalis each scored a game-high 20 points for the Pacers, who fell to 4-13 (1-7 PAC) on the year.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday when they will host Arcadia University at 1:00 p.m.
