GWYNEDD, Pa. - Gwynedd Mercy College edged Neumann College 3-2 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's soccer action Saturday afternoon in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania.
Neumann struck first late in the opening half on a Casey Geary ball that sailed over Griffins' goalie Colleen Amici for the 1-0 lead. However, Gwynedd Mercy answered with back to back goals before the first half expired taking a 2-1 advantage over the Knights. That score would stand at the half.
In the second half, GMC added an insurance goal in the early minutes of the second stanza, but the Knights wouldn't qui. Neumann pulled within one when Geary scored her second of the day after taking control of a pass from Nichole Christy, for her ninth goal of the year and the Knights final goal of the day.
Neumann (4-9-1, 2-6 PAC) will travel to cross town rival Widener University on Monday, Oct. 16th at 7:00 p.m.
