ASTON, Pa- In a cross town match up at the Bruder Gymnasium in Aston Pennsylvania, the Knights of Neumann College (13-10) hosted the Garnets of Swarthmore College (12-10) in a 3-1 match up in favor of Swarthmore College Tuesday evening.

Prior to tonight's four-game event, the Knights honored fellow senior teammates Kelly Saville, Jenna Halpin and Sarah Miller for their hard work, dedication, and determination to the Knights' volleyball program over the last four years.

The first game resulted in a Garnet victory, with a final result of 30-26.  For Neumann Julia Tarloski (Malvern, Pa.) had 6 kills on the game and both Rachael Sokolovich (Media, Pa.) and Emilee Gruse (Lafayette, In.) helped their team with 4 kills each.

The Knights answered back in game 2, when they battled Swarthmore to a 30-28 game.  Sokolovich had another impressive game with a total of 12 kills to add to her previous 4.  Kristen Gregg-Verone (Folsom, Pa.) helped the Knights to the game victory with a striking 28 assists heading into the third game of the match.

The pace of game three kept the Knights on their feet, but it was not enough to defeat Swarthmore in the third game.  The Garnets beat the Knights in another close game, 30-28.

Neumann demonstrated tenacious play in the fourth game of the match; however the Garnets stole the court to a result of 30-28.

The Knights will travel next to Chester, Pa. to take on Widener on Saturday, October 21st in a 10:00 a.m. game.
