Box Score

Neumann College traveled to Immaculata, Pennsylvania to face PAC rival Immaculata University in their 8th PAC match up of the season Saturday afternoon.

In a tough fought battle Neumann fell short despite scoring three goals against the Knights' PAC foe.  Neumann's Barry Harvey got the Knights on the board first with the first goal of the day. Harvey's goal was assisted by freshman Rick Upshaw, his first of the season, at 29:34.

The Mighty Mac's rebounded, scoring two goals in the first half to take a 2-1 advantage over the Knights at the half. However, Neumann Knight Scott Weaver tied things up 48 seconds into the second stanza off a pass from Barry Harvey. IU responded sending two strong balls pass Knights keeper Josh Williams, who had four save on the day, to regain the lead 4-2.

Midfielders Josh Steer, Mitch Fryling, Barry Harvey, Steve Monastra, and defensive

Midfielder Mike Barbagallo had a stellar performance in the contest. "They showed great promise for the future, as there was great understanding which allowed them to maintain a bulk of ball possession and generated a barrage of opportunities that has been unseen this season from the Knights," stated Head Coach Kevin Sloan. "Scott Weaver shined up front, as his speed and nose for the goal created Immaculata defensive problems and confusion."

Despite the loss Neumann College had their best performance to date, as well as their best offensive performance including the final goal of the day by Barry Harvey at 77:12.

Neumann will return to action on Monday October 23rd when they host Marywood at 3:30 p.m.
