Aston, Pa - The Neumann Knights (2-7-1, 4-12-1 PAC) fell 4-0 to PAC rival Arcadia College (8-7-2, 5-3-2 PAC) in women's soccer action this afternoon.
Under a cool breeze Arcadia controlled the ball in the first few minutes of play however it was Neumann's Angela Juliano who managed to get the first shot on net at 1:08 of the half. Unfortunately for the Knights Arcadia was able to stop the shot just shy of its destination, sending play back into Arcadia territory.
At 11:23 into the half Arcadia was able to take the lead when Amanda Pote scored the eventual game winner off a Samantha Calhoun corner. Arcadia went on to score two more before the half was complete taking a 3-0 lead going into the second stanza.
Neumann came out strong in the second half but could not catch a break as the sun set, causing temperatures to fall on the Knights season ending event. Neumann's best shot came at 72:14 when Maureen Muntz, hit a shot that bounced of Auralia Kubat and was rebounded by Jess Kempa, who took a second shot which was blocked and cleared down field in Arcadia's favor.
Neumann ends the 2006 season 4-12-1 overall and 2-7-1 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.
