ASTON, Pa.- The Neumann Knights (20-13) took on conference rival Alvernia College (8-11) this evening in PAC Tournament play, earning a 3-1 victory over the Crusaders. Neumann controlled the night and took Alvernia to a total of four games in the night.
The first match resulted in a Neumann victory, with a final result of 30-12 over Alvernia College. Neumann's Kristen Gregg tallied 11 assists in the match, while Julia Tarloski scored 4 kills.
Heading into the next match, the Knights controlled the play; however, it was the Crusaders of Alvernia College who came out victorious in the second game of the night. The tight match concluded with a final score of 30-28 in favor of Alvernia, tying the night at one a piece. Knights Julia Tarloski and Rachael Sokolovich had 9 and 8 kills in the match, respectively.
With each team taking the court with a win under their belt, it was Neumann who dominated play in the third match, to a score of 30-20. Neumann's Emilee Gruse concluded the past three matches with 12 kills, while Kristen Gregg tallied 36 assists for her team.
In the fourth and final match of the game, the victory was in the Knights' favor, with a 30-18 win, advancing the Knights to the semifinal of the PAC Tournament.
Neumann will travel to Gwynedd-Mercy for playoff action this Thursday, November 2nd at 7:00 p.m., while Cabrini and Eastern will face-off at Eastern at 7:00 p.m. Thursday night.
