ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann College Knights fell to Marywood University this afternoon in conference play with a final score of 3-0. The game's tempo was kept high throughout the game, but Neumann could not gain an edge on the Pacers of Marywood University.
Neumann's defense was able to block out the Pacers in the first half. However, the Pacers were able to gain the edge in the second half scoring the first goal of the game at 54:37, when Pacer's offensive attacker Annie McDonald scored of a Marissa Ruda assist. The Pacers went up 2-0 five minutes later when Ruda scored on a penalty kick at 59:05 and followed with a third goal in the 81st minute of play.
Freshman Knight Caitlin Agnew had 10 saves on the day, while MU's Amy Hand stopped 2.
With the loss Neumann drops to 4-7-1 and 2-3-1 in the PAC while Marywood moves to 9-4 and 3-4 in the PAC.
The Knights will take the field Thursday, October 12 to take on Alvernia College in an all conference game, in Reading Pa., at 4:00 p.m.
