Radnor, PA - In the final regular season match up of the 05-06 season, the Neumann Knights (11-14, 9-7 PAC) were hosted by the Eagles of Eastern University (2-22 0-16 PAC). In the PAC match up, the Knights came out on top, earning their second win over the PAC rival this season. The evenings 83-69 victory not only gives the Knights two in a row over the Eagles, but also clinches the sixth seed into the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Tournament which begins on Tuesday, February 21, 2006.

In the match up Syreeta Brown led the Knights with a career high 22 points, going 6-9 from behind the arc. Senior Kirsten Patton scored 18 points; grabbing 8 rebounds while Nellie Mixon scored 15 and Ashley Leonard put 10 on the board for Knights.

After a slow start, the Knights managed to pull together, taking a 31-20 half time lead. The second half opened with the Eastern pressing hard and forcing turnovers, but the Knights were able to break through the Eastern pressure and find inside baskets. Neumann made up for their 30 turnovers, shooting 53% for the game, recording 14 steals and taking an eleven rebound advantage over their hosts, who closed the gap to eight but could not stop the Knights charge.

 

The Knights will face 3rd seed Immaculata University in the first round of the PAC Tournament on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 in Immaculata, PA.
