ASTON, PA - Coming into the PAC match-up against the Falcons of Cedar Crest College on Saturday afternoon, the Knights were looking to improve their record of 2-3, 1-1 in the PAC.
The Knights took control early in the game scoring 15 first half goals to Cedar Crest's 1. At the half, Mary Zupan (West Point, NY/James T. O'Neil) stepped between the pipes for the Knights, relieving starting goal keeper Caitlin O'Shea (Springfield, PA/Springfield), and had 4 saves for the Knights. Neumann out shot the Falcons 36 to 10, and managed to keep them to only 5 goals who came from Helen Luu (3) and Kirsten Gustafson (2).
The Knights were led by seniors Kolleen Kitzinger (Springfield, PA/Archbishop Prendergast) who had 4 goals and 5 assists, Brandy McCreary (West Chester, PA/ Henderson) with 2 goals, 5 assists, Samantha Lafferty (Glenolden, PA/Interboro) with 2 goals, 4 assists, and junior Michelle coderre (Freehold, NJ/Manalapan), who scored an individual game high of 4 goals and also tallied 1 assist.
Also helping the Knights earn the win was Amanda Biagi (Bell Mawr, NJ/Paul VI) with 3 goals, Courtney Murphy (Philadelphia, PA/Little Flower) with 2 goals and 1 assist, and senior defender Jill Rodgers (Prospect Park, PA/Interboro) who made an appearance in the offensive zone to add 2 goals. Freshman Emily Kazaba (Claymont, DE/Brandywine) and junior Lindsey Motto (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg) each had a goal in the Knight's 21-5 victory over the Falcons. The Knights' record now improves to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the PAC. Cedar Crest falls to 0-6, 0-3 in the PAC.
