The Neumann Knights hosted the Mighty Macs of Immaculata University in
PAC women's lacrosse action Monday afternoon in what would be their 8th
straight win over the conference foe in program history.
In the opening minutes of the contest Kolleen Kitzinger rebounded a shot off
the draw by Samanatha Lafferty, giving Lafferty enough time to reset the play
on the field, and capitalize on the due over putting the Knights up 1-0 at the
27:28 mark.
Erin O'Donnell kept things going Neumann's way just minutes later causing a
Immaculata turnover which was picked up by Amanda Biagi. Biagi passed and
cleared the ball down field to Gabby D'Ambrosio who found Kitzinger for the 2-0 lead.
Neumann went on to score the next four goals taking a 6-0 lead over the Mighty Macs before Immaculata's
Jessica Hanna intercepted a Caitlin O'Shea clear and was able to find the net at the 14:21 mark to close the gap
to five. However the visitor's goal just added fuel to the Knights fire. Neumann closed out the first half with
five more goals taking a commanding 11-1 lead over the Knights' guests.
The Knights continued their scoring zip in the second half scoring four consecutive goals in the first ten
minutes of play. Michelle Coderre scored the Knights 12th of the day followed by a free position shot by
Brandy McCreary, making it a 13-1 Knights game. D'Ambrosio added her second of the afternoon followed
by Kitzenger with her third.
A caused turnover by Claire Lichty, which resulted in a goal, seemed to spark Immaculata's offense but not
before Neumann's Emily Kazaba scored after receiving a pass from Kitzinger at 17:59. From there Immaculata's
Rachel Coyle and Claire Lichty work diligently to close the gap by could not overcome the Knights continued
strength and quickness. The win moves the Knights to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the PAC while the Mighty Macs
fall to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in the PAC.
The Knights will return to action on Wednesday when they will travel to Arcadia University for the first of a
three-game road trip at 3:30 p.m.
