ASTON, PA - The Knights came out on top Saturday, April 29th, sneaking by the Crusaders of Alvernia College 7-6 to improve their record to 3-8, 1-6 PAC.  Alvernia (2-15, 1-6 PAC) was led by Tom Novak and Chris Schell, each with 2 goals.  Nick Schall lifted the Knights' attack with 3 goals and 1 assist, while Ryan McCauley scored 2 goals and 1 assist.

Prior to the start of the game, Neumann College honored seniors Dave Carr, Nate Eber, Nick Lauletta, Mike Mol, and Joe Ries for their commitment to the team during their time at Neumann.  This game would be the last contest of the season for the Knights, and the last game at Neumann for the five seniors.

The Knights and the Crusaders went back and forth the entire game, staying within one goal of each other.  Alvernia led by one at the end of the first quarter, going up 2-1 over the Knights, but Neumann tied it back up going into the half, 3-3.  At this point, it was anybody's game.

In the last quarter of the game, Neumann led by one goal and managed to keep the Crusaders from scoring for the rest of the game.  Junior Ed Geiger had a hand in the Knights' win, scoring 1 goal and dishing out 2 assists, and Nick Lauletta fired one in for Neumann's first goal of the game.  On defense for the Knights, Curtis Costa had 6 caused turnovers and picked up 2 ground balls, forcing the Crusader attack to retreat.  Mike McCauley allowed only 6 goals and had 17 saves in the 60 minutes of back and forth play.

Alvernia's Tom Fraker and Bill Bernheisel also had a goal each, but it wasn't enough to put them ahead of the Knights.  Alvernia goalkeeper Chris Kanauss had 17 saves on the day for the Crusaders.
