Radnor, PA - Neumann College improved to 7-1 in PAC Play and 13-4 overall after defeating Eastern University in PAC women's basketball action this evening. The Knights were led by Brittany Whetts, who registered 14 points and 17 rebounds and

Dorothy Rozier who recorded her first double-double of the season (13 points-10 rebounds).

Neumann overtook the Eagles in the first 5 minutes of play and never fell behind in the ensuing 35 minutes of basketball action. However, it was the hosts who got on the board first, as Eastern came out on a 5-0 run to start the game. The Knights' first points of the night came from a set of free-throws, the first by Dorothy Rozier and the second by Brittany Whetts. Neumann then went on a 14-point run to end the half up 35-27.

The two teams went bucket for bucket in the opening minutes of the second half until Eastern was able to use a six-point run to close the gap on the Knights. The Eagles managed to tie the game 41-41 with 11:40 left on the clock but, Neumann responded with a 15-2 run led by Nicole Feby (6) and Caitlin Agnew (5). The Knights allowed the Eagles just three more points before closing the night up 62-48.

Neumann will return to action on Saturday, January 29 at home against Wesley College at 1:00 p.m.
