Box Score

Aston, Pa- Neumann College (7-9, 5-3 PAC) shutout the Marywood University Pacers (4-10, 3-5 PAC), 2-0 Saturday at Bruder Field.

Before the game, six seniors were recognized as parents and family members of the Knights team helped to honor the seniors at center of the field. Amanda Biagi (Bellmawr, NJ/Paul VI), Abi Bilski (East Earl, Pa./Lancaster Catholic), Gabriele Bendistis (Media, Pa./Penncrest), Britani Walsh (Paulsboro, NJ/Paulsboro), Andrea White (Wilmington, De./St.Elizabeth), and Chelsea Ward (Willingboro, NJ/Rancocas Valley) were the Seniors honored and all have contributed to the Knights 5-3 PAC record this season.

The first thirty-five minutes was a battle as both teams had quality scoring chances but were denied.  Pacer goal keeper Stephanie Ziemski (Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany) kept the Knights off the board early and Ward did the same stopping all five shots she saw from Marywood in the first half. Finally, with only 3:46 left in the half it was an underclassman Megan Mazur (Parlin, NJ/Sayreville) providing the Knights and seniors with a big goal on a feed from Junior forward, Kerri Sinclair (Chadds Ford, Pa. /Unionville). The goal put Neumann up 1-0 and gave them momentum going into half time.

Unlike the first half, the Knights wasted no time getting on the board as Rachael DiCicco (South Dennis, NJ/Middle Township) scored an insurance goal on a pass from Biagi.  Defensively Neumann kept the ball out of their end as the Pacers could only provide two more shots that were both turned away by Ward to give her a shutout.  The team as a whole came up big on a big day for the Neumann seniors. Despite the win, seniors Andrea White and Gabriele Bendistis both left the contest late in the second half with injuries.  The team will keep their fingers crossed hoping that both girls will be back in action for the next game.

Neumann will get tomorrow off but will come right back Monday, October 15th as they host Wesley College at 4:00 p.m.
