Meghan Wilson (West Chester, Pa. /Bishop Shanahan) became just the fourth player in school history to record 1,000 career digs as the Neumann College Knights swept the Falcons of Cedar Crest College in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's volleyball contest in Allentown, Pa.
The Knights took the first game, 30-10 and followed with a 30-28 win in game two, before taking the third game 30-16. With the 3-0 sweep of Cedar Crest College the Knights improve to 17-8 overall and remain undefeated in the PAC (9-0). Cedar Crest falls to 18-13 overall and 2-6 in the PAC.
Wilson entered the game needing fourteen digs to reach the 1,000 mark. The junior defensive specialist reached the mark midway through the third game and finished the game with a match-high 17 digs and now has 1,003 for her career.
Rachael Sokolovich (Media, Pa. /Ridley) led the Knights with eight kills and Ashley Mathis (Norristown, Pa. /Norristown) and Emilee Gruse (Lafayette, In. /St. Mark's) added 7 apiece for the Knights in the win. Kristen Verone (Folsom, Pa. /Cardinal O'Hara) led all players with seven service aces and set up 35 successful kills on the night.
Neumann will look to will continue its six-game win streak on Thursday at home against Rosemont College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
