Knights Falter Late in Second Half, 5-3

10/24/2007 12:00:00 AM

Aston, Pa.-Neumann College came back from a 3-1 deficit in the second half to tie the score at 3-3 but Wesley was too much to handle as the Wolverines went on to score two more goals late in the second half earning a 5-3 victory over the Knights.  Neumann's Jesse Urquhart had two goals for the Knights in the loss.

The Knights went up on top early on when Jesse Urquhart sent a low cross and a Wesley defender scored into his own net giving the Knights an early 1-0 lead.  Wesley came back minutes later when Peter Hulem headed home a corner tying the score at 1-1.  Right before halftime, goalkeeper Brett Fenimore made a great save denying the go ahead goal.

After the break, Wesley came out and opened up the scoring.  Justin Lambert slammed home a rebound to take the 2-1 lead.  Minutes later, Dom Citino slotted a cross past the goal keeper to the head of Brain McCann to go up 3-1.

The Knights did not back down as Barry Harvey made a great run from the back field to find Jesse Urquhart who put in a superb shot from the top of the box trimming the lead, 3-2.  Urquhart did it again when he made a great individual play slipping the ball past the keeper and through two defensemen to tie the game at 3-3.

That would be it for the Knights as Wesley stepped up to the challenge. Off a set piece, Justin Lambert found the back of the net off a header, as Wesley regained the lead.  Then Brain McCann scored on a last minute penalty kick giving the away side the victory.

The Knights will return to action on Friday at Eastern University in their final PAC conference match up of the season. Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
