BOX SCORE

Aston, Pa.-The last time the Knights met Manhattanville it was in the ECAC West Conference Championship where Manhattanville pulled it out late in the end.  Today at Ice Works Arena, it was a different story.  The Knights won 4-3, scoring two goals within thirty seconds midway through the third period, Kaleigh Schrock (Fort Wayne, IN) provided the game winner for Knights in the seventh minute of play.

The first period started off with a list of penalties.  Manhattanville had the best chance with a 5 on 3 advantage but the Knights penalty kill did a quality job of clearing the puck.  Goaltender Mike Collichio (Rochester, NY) stepped up denying a breakaway opportunity by Joe Dicamillo midway through the first period.

The Knights themselves had a chance on the power play and they converted.   Matt Ward (Kemptville, ONT) slid the puck circle to circle to a streaking Erik Stoyanvich (London, ONT) who finished the play putting it over the Manhattanville goaltender's shoulder giving the Knights a 1-0 lead.

The Valiants came right back in the second period tying the score early.  Arlen Marshall took a one time pass from Chris Wanchulak tying the game at 1-1.  Danny Genovese also had an assist.

The Knights retook the lead midway through the second period tallying two goals within thirty seconds giving them a 3-1 lead.  Charles Paterson (Navan, ONT) and Erik Stoyanvich set up Mark Van Vliet (Dorchester, ONT)  who put it away taking a 2-1 lead.  Seconds later, Mike Hedden (St. Catherines, ONT) slipped it past the Manhattanville goalkeeper from a pass by Mike Gooch (Mantua, NJ) and Charles Paterson going ahead 3-1.

Manhattanville got one back in the second the period with great individual effort by Bredndan McIntyre who made it a 3-2 game.

McIntyre once again made a great individual play early in the third but this time Mike Collichio made an excellent save keeping the Knights ahead.  The Valiants regrouped and tied the score at 3-3 with the goal scored by Kevin Maresco.

The score would not stay tied for long as midway through the third Kaleigh Schrock swatted a loose puck in the air into the back of the net giving the Knights a 4-3 lead.

That is all the Knights needed as they got their first ECAC West win of the year.  This is the first conference win against Manhattanville since joining the ECAC West in 2001-2002. The Knights are now 1-14-3 all time against the Valiants.

The Knights will return to action tomorrow night at home against Utica College at 7:00 p.m.
