Michael Hedden added his fourth hat trick in four games to help the Neumann Knights (10-4) beat SUNY Fredonia, 7-2, and sweep the weekend series.  The Knights scored four unanswered goals in the second period to secure the 7-2 victory.

"Our special teams played excellent. We are happy we are going into the break at 10-4 and are looking forward to heading to Vermont to close out the year,." stated Head Coach Phil Roy.

The Knights struck first midway through the first period taking 1-0 lead due to the efforts of Erik Stoyanvich who beat Fredonia goalkeeper Kevin Amborski short side.

Fredonia would tie the score 4:18 into the second when a James Muscatello shot trickled past Knights goaltender Mike Collichio.

The Knights then went on to score four unanswered in the second period to go up 5-1. Hedden started the spree with a power play goal at the 6:52 mark.  Mike Gooch then doubled the lead when he caught the goalkeeper off guard giving the Knights a 3-1 lead.  Hedden then grabbed his second goal of the game at the 11:59 mark when he struck it home on top of the crease.  Then Kyle Casey scored the Knights' second power play goal of the game giving Neumann the 5-1 lead.

Fredonia stopped the run when Jordan Oye put one in late in the second period cutting the Knights lead to 5-2.

Neumann would add two more goals in the third period.  Neil Trimm added the first of the period with a quick wrister on the power play.  The second goal would come from Hedden who completed his hat trick giving the Knights the 7-2 victory.

After the game Mike Hedden commented on the team's recent success. "We are starting to play Neumann hockey and come together as a team. That chemistry has helped make all the difference on the season."

The Knights will not return to action until later this month. The Knights are set to travel to Vermont for the St. Michael's Holiday Tournament on December 29-30.  The Knights will play their first game against Becker College, December 29th at 4:00 p.m.
