Aston, Pa. - On Saturday, February 24, Neumann College (10-11-1, 8-5-0) lost to Elmira College (17-4-3, 10-1-2) 5-2 in an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference West game.
In the first period the Knights were held to only one shot on goal, while the Soaring Eagles scored three goals to open the game, one of which was on a power play.
In the second period things did not get any better for the Knights, being held to only 5 shots on net. The Knights had four power play opportunities but could not chip away at Elmira's lead. 16:18 into the period the Soaring Eagles scored another goal, making the score 4 - 0 at the end of play in the second period.
The third period the Knights started to show some life after Elmira scored their fifth and final goal, but it was too little too late. The Knights broke the shut out when Holly Williams scored their first goal 9:03 into the period, assisted by Carly Fitzsimmons. That was followed with an unassisted power play goal by Carolyn Fauteux with 9:07 left in the game. That was the end of the scoring for the game with the final 5-2 Elmira College.
The Knights will be on the ice again at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25 at Elmira College.
