Buffalo, NY - The Neumann College Knights (10-8-1/8-2) recorded two road wins over ECAC West rival Buffalo State (7-11-1/5-5) this weekend. Neumann earned a 6-1 win on Saturday and returned to the Bengals' ice on Sunday for the second game of the weekend series which ended in a 4-0 shutout, their fourth of the season.
On Saturday Neumann's defense allowed only 15 shots on net, 14 of which were stopped by Knights' starting goaltender Teresa White. Offensively Carolyn Fauteux, Jenelle Marier, Kristin Gauthier, Carly Fitzsimmons (2), Samantha May, Holly Williams, Vicki Scott, and Jessica McAllister scored points for the Knights in the 6-1 win.
On Sunday Teresa White made 22 saves, for her 5th career shutout, and Carolyn Fauteux scored twice to help the Neumann Knights beat the Bengals 4-0. Carly Fitzsimmons and Jenelle Marier also scored for Neumann, which has won its last four consecutive games. Samantha May, Jenelle Marier Robyn Armstrong and Kaitlin Hein each had an assist while Kristin Gauthier had two assists in the shutout.
Neumann will return to action on Friday, February 16 against Utica College at home. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:00 p.m.
