Aston, Pa. - Neumann College (12-10, 9-6) broke a three-game losing streak and handed GMC (11-11, 9-6) their third consecutive loss of the season with a 90-75 win over Gwynedd Mercy College in PAC men's basketball action this evening.
Neumann was down 14 in the opening minutes of the first half but rallied back to take a 47-38 half time lead due to the efforts of Ronnie Fields who sank four of the Knights' nine first half three-point baskets.
In the second half Neumann remained hot keeping a 10-point lead over the Griffins throughout most of the second 20-minutes of play. Neumann closed the game on a 11-4 run led by Mike Hitchens and Ronnie Fields.
The Knights shot 49.2% from the floor and scored 11 of 20 from behind the arch. Neumann received 52 points from their bench which included Mike Hitchens' career high 26 points. The sophomore from Ardsley, Pennsylvania also grabbed 7 rebounds for Neumann who is now tied for third in the PAC conference with one week of conference play to go.
Next Up for the Knights: Neumann will travel to Dallas, Pennsylvania on Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. tip off with College Misericorida.
