The Neumann Knights and the Albright Lions had a lot in common going into Wednesday's ECAC Southern Regional in Reading, Pennsylvania. "We played well tonight," stated Head Coach Frank Farnese. "I am proud of the team and what these women did this season. Albright shot well and we struggled a bit off the first tip and just couldn't recover."
Neumann was down 7 in the first two-minutes of play and was unable to catch the Lions from that point forward. Neumann did manage to close the gap to 3 at the 16-minute mark of the first half and received a strong second half scoring effort from Brittany Whetts however, Neumann could not overtake the evening's host.
Neumann's Brittany Whetts, who was named 2006-07 PAC Rookie of the Year earlier in the week, led the Knights. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native had a game high 37 points including 27 of her 37 in the second half of play. Teammate Dominique Thompson chipped in with 10-points in the loss.
