Immaculata, Pa. - The Neumann College Knights (2-1, 2-1 PAC) defeated PAC opponent Immaculata Mighty Macs (0-3, 0-3 PAC) and the weather to win in triple overtime, 8-7 on Wednesday in women's lacrosse action. Neumann's game winner came from Gabby D'Ambrosio who netted the goal from a free position shot in the second sudden death overtime.
Neumann's tremendous defensive play had a major role in the game shutting down the Mighty Mac's offense. Rachael DiCicco and D'Ambrosio each had 5 ground balls and Caitlin O'Shea played great between the pipes adding 11 saves. Courtney Murphy led the offensive play tallying 3 goals and 1 assist for a team high four points. Adding 2 goals was Colleen Finnegan and Laura Glavin added one but it was D'Ambrosio's goal that set Neumann above .500 for the first time this year.
The Knights will be in action against Alvernia College on Saturday, March 24 in a home game in Aston, Pa.
