Aston, Pa - Junior goalkeeper Caitlin O'Shea had 16 saves to lead Neumann College to a 13-11 victory over Wesley College for the final time as conference rivals in Dover, Delaware.
The Knights were led by PAC Player of the Week Gabby D'Ambrosio with 5 goals, Dominique Thompson with 2 goals, 2 assists, 3 ground balls and 2 interceptions, Courtney Murphy with two goals and Rachael DiCicco with two goals. With the win Neumann improves to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in PAC play while Wesley falls to 4-4 overall and 5-6 in the PAC.
Neumann started out strong when Emily Kazaba, Laura Glavin and PAC Player of the Week Gabby D'Ambrosio each netted a goal within the first ten minutes of play. Wesley came back to score two consecutive goals of their own but, Neumann's Rachael DiCicco and Dominique Thompson helped the Knights maintain the lead with a goal each making the score 5-2 with 7:33 left in the first half. Wesley closed in on the Knights once again, but was unable to overpower Neumann who held a 6-5 lead at the half.
The Knights opened the second half with four consecutive goals in the first seven minutes of play. Wesley chipped away at the Knights lead but would get no closer that a two goal deficit at anytime in the final 30 minutes of play.
Neumann junior goalkeeper Caitlin O'Shea made 15 saves for the Knights and Wesley's goalie, Kristie Stapleton made 13 saves in the loss.
