Aston, Pa. - In their final home game of the season the Neumann Knights men's lacrosse team fell to the Cavaliers of Cabrini College, 25-1, in a conference match-up this afternoon.
Prior to this afternoon's PAC contest the team recognized seniors John Curry, Dan Gregg, Chad Kazaba, Ryan McCauley and Devin Mossor who made their final home appearance as a Knight this afternoon.
Unfortunately, for these seniors, they were unable to finish out their home schedule they way they wanted to. Cabrini jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. By the end of the first half, the Cavaliers had a comfortable 14-0 lead.
Cabrini began the 2nd half the same way that they finished the first, scoring 6 more unanswered goals in the 3rd quarter. The Knights showed signs of life, midway through the 4th quarter, when freshman Matt Toth tallied their first goal. Senior Dan Gregg registered the assist in his final home game as a Neumann Knight.
Despite moving the ball and playing better as a team in the 4th quarter, the Knights were still unable to get many shots on goal against a stingy Cabrini defense. Neumann fell to the Cavaliers by a final of 25-1.
The Knights will look to rebound from this defeat when they play at Ursinus College on Wednesday afternoon
