Aston, Pa-The Neumann College Women's Lacrosse team fell to conference leaders Cabrini Cavaliers 13-8 on Thursday afternoon. The Knights could not catch up after falling behind five goals early.
The Knights started off slow but did not give up bringing the game as close as 5-3 right before halftime. Cabrini's high powered offense led by Erin Nollen who scored five goals herself did not give up the lead.
In the second half, Cabrini scored three goals in the first ten minutes to make it 8-3 then a goal by Emily Kazaba made it 8-4 but the Knights gave up another three to put the game out of reach. The final scored ended up 13-8 with Gabby D'Ambrosio ending the game with a hat trick putting her goal tally on the day to 5.
During today's game Junior Courtney Murphy broke Neumann's all time caused turnovers record recording the 128th caused turnover of her career. The previous record was held by Samantha Lafferty with recorded of 126 over her four year career as a Knight. Murphy averages 3.12 caused turnovers a game for the Knights.
Neumann will be back in action at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in their last home game of the season.
