Box Score

Aston, Pa- The Neumann College women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Muhlenberg College this afternoon at Knight's field.  A late glitch on defense gave Muhlenberg their first goal in the 76 minute and a lead they would not relinquish.

Muhlenberg midfielder Rachel Goldstein was on target late in the game after taking control of a clean pass from Jennifer Lynch to give Muhlenberg their first goal of the game.  A penalty kick, less than two-minutes later by Valerie Patriarca, put the game away for the Mules.

The Knights fought hard in the match but Neumann was unable to find one good scoring chance.  Sarah Poynter came close to giving the Knights a goal but her header sailed over the crossbar.  Knight's goalkeeper Elizabeth Raiburn put up a good defensive effort, saving fifteen shots in the loss.

Neumann's Coach Lisa Benvenuto was pleased with her team's performance "A late glitch on defense gave them a lead but we fought hard for all ninety minutes.  We are ready and excited to start PAC play this week."

The Knights will do just that when they host College of Notre Dame for the first time in program history, on September 19 at 4:00 PM. This PAC match-up is slated for 4:00 p.m.
