Neumann Falls to Widener in Home Opener

Aston, Pa.-The women's soccer the team fell 6-0 to Widener University in their season home opener this afternoon.  The Knights could not stop the persistent attack from Widener giving up three goals in both halves.

 

In the first half, the Knights let Widener control ball in their half allowing Sam Hand, Caryinna Yenchak, and Valisha Andrus score goals for the Pioneers.  It could have been more but goalie Caitlin Agnew came up big making some immense saves.

 

In the second half, it was the same story; Widener scored another three goals from Sam Baer, Caryinna Yenchak, and Christine Langelier.  The Knights showed some life late in the second half when forward Casey Geary struck a shot right at the goalkeeper but the ball was stopped by Widener's Rochele Jacobs.

 

The Knights will be back in action this Saturday against King's College in Wilke-Barre, Pa at 1:00 p.m.
