Box Score

Aston, Pa.  - Senior captain Stephanie Lutz picked a fine time to score her first goal of the season as she found the back of the net with 14 minutes left in the match to lift Neumann (1-2-0) to a 2-1 victory over King's College (0-3-1) in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Megan McCoach pushed the ball up the right side and sent it to Casey Geary who held the attack before slotting a pass to sophomore Brittany Barley who scored the Knights' first goal of the day.

"It was a really awesome series," stated Head Coach Lisa Benvenuto. It was a great example of what happens when good players work together as a team."

King's College tied the game in the first few moments of the second half, but the Knights' defense, led by Colleen Rush, managed to hold the Monarchs at bay for the majority of the game.

"We received outstanding play by Megan McCoach, Colleen Rush and Vicky Segal. Those three individuals led this team to the win. Segal was unbelievable at stopper; she really created the attack for us. Brittany Barley's skill and speed continue to improve; she really made a difference on this team today."

Neumann is back on the road on Wednesday, September 12, at Wesley College in Dover Delaware.
