ASTON, Pa. - Eli Hitchens (Ardsley, Pa. /Abington) scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, for his first double-double of the season while his brother Mike Hitchens added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the Knights' 71-64 loss to Immaculata University Thursday evening.
The loss drops the Knights to 5-10 on the season and 3-4 in the PAC while the Mighty Macs keep their undefeated PAC streak alive, moving to 12-4 overall and 7-0 in league play.
The Knights led at the half, 37-36, behind Eli Hitchens' 8-for-15 shooting performance from the field and went up seven with 12:38 left to play in the game behind Na'Sheed Linton's 10-point effort.
However, a 5-0 run by the Mighty Macs put the Knights' hosts within two and a three-pointer by Reggie Strickland gave Immaculata the lead with 6:52 left on the clock.
Neumann bounced back to tie the game at 55 and battled point for point through the next 3-minutes of play. Immaculata took a 61-60 lead over the Knights with 3:45 left on the clock and never looked back.
Neumann will look to rebound on Saturday, January 26, when they host Gwynedd Mercy College in a PAC match up at 4:00 p.m.
