BOX SCORE

Aston, Pa. -- Kaleigh Schrock scored the game winner in the second period as Neumann defeated ECAC West rival Lebanon Valley College, 6-2, on Saturday afternoon.

Neumann converted on three of twelve power-play opportunities and outshot its host 57-23. Kyle Casey, Mike Gooch and Charles Paterson each scored on an extra man opportunity while Dayne Bihn scored a short-handed goal in route to the 6-2 win.

Appearing in his first start as a Neumann Knight, Jordan Erickson made several key saves helping to improve the Knights to 14-5-0 while Casey and Dayne Bihn scored a goal and an assist each in the win.

Lebanon Valley took a 1-0 lead at 12:33 of the first period on a short handed shot by Rob Scales. Neumann answered less than seven minutes later when Donovan Hall scored off the post at the 18:21 mark ending the first period in a 1-1 tie.

The Knights managed to shut down the Dutchmen's offense in the second period and created numerous offensive opportunities of their own. Neumann scored in the first two-minutes of the period, on the power-play, as Mike Hedden and Mike Gooch lit the way for Casey who scored his 14th goal of the season at 1:07. Schrock added the game winner at the 18:38 mark after taking an assist from Jeff Rodell and Mark Van Vliet.

Neumann took a 4-1 lead at 1:18 of the third period after defenseman Mike Gooch scored his third goal of the season off a pass from Neil Trimm.  Lebanon Valley managed to get one more goal past Erickson, who had 21-saves on the day, before the Knights added two more unanswered goals, the first by Dayne Bihn and the second by Charles Paterson to concluded the season sweep of the Dutchmen.

"The amount of support we received at the Giant Center was great," Head Coach Phil Roy said. "It was a great experience for our team to play in an American Hockey League venue and it was great to come away with another win. We are definitely looking toward the rest of the season."

The Knights will be back in action on Friday, February 1, when they will host Elmira College at 7:00 p.m.
