READING, Pa. – The Neumann College women's tennis team defeated Penn State-Berks, 7-2, Friday afternoon in non-conference action.
Neumann started the afternoon winning two-of-three doubles. Ali DeTolla and Rachel Colandonato won No. 2 doubles, 8-2. Michelle Steward and Lindsey Ravior took their match at No 3 doubles, 8-3.
The Knights then took five-of-six singles matches for the 7-2 win. DeTolla took her match at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 7-5. At No. 3 doubles, Courtney Hartel won a close match 6-1, 2-6 (10-6). Steward took her match at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Kayla Chamberlain won No. 5 singles, 6-2 (10-4). Colandonato won No. 6 singles by an injury default (1-2).
The Knights improve to 9-7 on the season. Penn State-Berks is 3-3.
Neumann will travel to Philadelphia Biblical tomorrow for a Colonial States Athletic Conference match at noon.
