ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Neumann College women's ice hockey team lost to RIT Friday night in ECAC West action in its opening game of the season.
RIT netted three goals in the second and third periods en route to the 6-1 win. Neumann scored its goal in the third period. Niki Blazenko scored off an assist from Nicole Alexopoulos.
Mel Brunet made 33 saves in net for the Knights.
Neumann is 0-1 on the season and 0-1 in ECAC West play. RIT is 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the ECAC West.
The two teams will face each other again on Saturday afternoon. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
