Box Score

Radnor, PA- The Women's Basketball Team traveled north to Radnor, PA to take on PAC opponent Cabrini Cavaliers. In their previous match up early this season the Knights fell short by a score of 66-62 at Bruder Gymnasium.

Tonight in the replay, the Knights fell with a similar score but not without putting up a fight. The Knights had a 23-16 lead at halftime but could not hold onto the lead and ended up losing 51-48. Neumann had a chance in the last ten seconds to push things to overtime but could hit the game tying shot.

Neumann held the Cavaliers to a 21.4% field goal percentage in the first half. Dominque Thompson had 9 points and Katie Young tallied 7 to make up more than half the Knights first half points. The team went into halftime looking confident with the 23-16 lead.

The second half was a different story as Cabrini came out firing. After a poor first half of shooting the Cavaliers stormed out to an 8-0 run forcing a Neumann timeout. The Cavaliers would chip away at the lead until Cavalier Kayleen Smith hit a jumper giving Cabrini a 30-29 lead.

The half would remain close to the final seconds of the game. After a set of free throws by Deana DiAmico the score read 51-48 with 11 seconds left. The Kngihts dribbled down court and called a timeout to set up a final play. Dominque Thompson lined up a three pointer at the buzzer but it did not fall.

The Knights lost by a score of 51-48. Neumann was lead by Coleen Healy who had 11 points and 9 rebounds. The Cavaliers were lead by Alyssa Brady who had 19 points and 8 rebounds. Neumann shot only 21% from the field which was no match for Cabrini's offensive prowess. The Cavaliers hit half of the shots they took.

The Knights will be back in action Saturday Feb. 16 at 1:00 PM tip off time against PAC opponent Cedar Crest College.
