Radnor, PA- The Men's Basketball played one of the most important games of the season Monday night against Cabrini College. The Knights came into the game the seventh seed in the PAC Conference at 6-7 while Cabrini was holding on the sixth and final playoff spot at 7-6.
The Knights could not get in rhythm all game as the Cavaliers jumped out 8-0 and did not surrender the lead for the entire game. Neumann could not get the tide rolling in their direction as they shot just 34.7% from the field. This was no match for Cabrini's 44.2 shooting percentage from the floor and 40.9% from behind the arc.
Cabrini led 29-22 at halftime, and increased their margin to as much as 20 points in the second half. Randy Reid had a double double for the Cavaliers scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds in 33 mintues of play. The Knights top player was Na'Sheed Linton who had 14 points for the Knights.
The Knights went 0-11 from behind the arc and Cabrini went 9-22 scoring most of their three point shots when Neumann tried to get on a run.
The loss puts Neumann at 8-14 overall and 6-8 in PAC play. Cabrini improves to 11-12 and 8-6 in the PAC.
The Knights will be back in action Saturday February 16 in Aston, PA to take on Marywood University with tip-off set at 3:00 pm.
