Box Score
Even with Caitlin Agnew's 16 points, the Knights were unable to come away with a win in the first round of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference playoffs, Monday night at the Anderson Center in Dallas, PA.
Brittany Whetts had 12 rebounds, five blocks and five points and Dominique Thompson added seven points and eight rebounds as the Knights fell to15-11 overall, holding them back from advancing to the Semi-Finals.
The teams were evenly matched as they traded points for a majority of the first half. Agnew lead the scoring in the first half with five points and the teams were almost even with the Cougars up 24-22.
The second half was a slightly different story. Although the game was never out of reach for the Knights, the Cougars were able to put together enough scoring drives that forced Neumann to have to dig them out of, at times, 11 point deficits. It took Neumann a few runs up and down the court to find their groove as they were trailing by nine until 6:14 left in the half. The Knights were able to tie the game at 39 on a three point basket from Dominique Thompson.
Lacey DeGraw put Misericordia back in front with a pair of free throws before Amy Hughes' layup made it 43-39 with 5:17 to play. After that point, the Knights were never able to regain the lead and finished the game with a score of 55-49.
The Knights finish the season at 15-11 overall and 10-7 in the conference.
