D'Ambrosio Scores Nine Leads Knights Over Centenary, 18-12

Aston, PA- The Neumann Knights Women's Lacrosse team defeated the Centenary Cyclones  18-12 in a PAC match-up on Thursday afternoon. The Knights pulled away after a 6-6 tie and scored 6 unanswered goals to go up 12-6 and never looked back.

Gabby D'Ambrosio had nine goals for the Knights and one assist.  Dominique Tompson had four goals and three assists for seven total points.  Caitlin O'Shea made 16 saves for the Knights in goal.

The Knights jumped out to a 5-0 lead with Gabby D'Ambrosio scoring two of those goals.  Centenary regrouped and with 9:00 minutes left in the first half the Cyclones came back and tied the score at 6-6.

Neumann then answered right back scoring 4 goals before the end of the half and then 2 more in the second half to go up 12-6.  Dominique Thompson scored two goals with 30 seconds of each other and then Gabby D'Ambrosio scored three goals in a row during the run.

The Knights would not let go of that lead and continued to score goals at will with over six players getting goals and three of them had multiple goals in the game to go to win 18-12.  Colleen Finnegan, Sarah Poynter, and Adreinne McCrae each had a goal in the game.  Emily Kazaba had two goals and two assists.

Gabby D'Ambriosio also enter the record books after the game today in many categories.  She broke most points in the game with 10 the record was previously held by Kolleen Kitzinger who had 9 goals.  Also she broke most goals in the game with 9 the record was previously held by Samantha Lafferty with 6 goals.

The Knights will be on break as they will not be back until March 25 against Cabrini College at 4:00 PM.
