Aston, PA- The Neumann College Softball team swept Rutgers-Camden today 17-3 and 9-1 in a non-conference double header today at Bruder Fields. The Knights got on the board early in the first in both games and were backed by great pitching from Angela Sebasto and Julia Keenan.
In game one, the Knights got on the board in the first inning when Jen Goslin hit a three run homerun giving Neumann an early lead. Neumann would score six runs in the first inning. The Knights would continue scoring runs including a Christina Walsh homerun. Jen Gosslin went 3-3 in the first game with a home run, double and four RBI's. Julia Keenan got the win for the Knights only giving up there hits.
In game two, Neumann would strike again early but this time it was captain Caitlin Hanrahan hitting a two run home run giving the Knights an early lead. Sebasto kept the Scarlet Raptors off the bases only giving up one run and striking out seven. The game was ended on a Megan Goodman single which forced the eight run rule to come into play with the final score at 9-1.
The Knights look to continue their great play against Friday Cedar Crest College in Aston, Pa starting at 3:00 PM.
