Aston, PA- The Knights fell to the Misericordia Cougars 11-5 in a PAC match-up on Friday afternoon. The Knights fell behind early and could not catch up to the Cougars as they consistently hit throughout the game.
Misericordia got on the board in the first inning scoring two runs. Nate Newman hit a RBI double for the Cougars to start it off making it 1-0. Jamie Phillipie then doubled the score to make it 2-0 on a RBI single.
The Cougars would get another run in the second but the Knights would rebound, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second. Joseph Slater would hit a RBI double to get the Knights on the board then Dave Dragone hit a RBI single bringing the Neumann within one, 3-2.
Misericordia would get one back in the top of the third to regain a two run lead. Then the Cougars would add four more runs to go on top 8-2 in the top of the fifth.
Josiah Hughes would hit a RBI triple for the Knights to bring the score to 8-3 in the fifth inning. The Knights would add another run in the sixth on a wild pitch that would bring home George Hatton to make the score 9-4.
The Knights could not catch up to the Cougars as they fell to a final score of 11-5. The Knights will be back in action tomorrow at Misericordia for a double header starting at 12:00 PM.
