The Knights Run Away with a Victory

Allentown, PA (April 19, 2008) - Sophomore Jennifer McKenna (Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucest Catholic) nets her first collegiate goal as Neumann speesd past Cedar Crest College 14-5 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. Gabby D'Ambrosio (Mount Laurel, NJ/Holy Cross) nets five for the Knights and Rachael DiCicco (South Dennis, NJ/Middle Township) tallies three on the win. The victory takes the Knights to 6-7 overall and 5-3 in the PAC.

DiCicco scored the first goal of the contest at the 25:05 mark when she stormed down the field on a midfield connection from Adrienne McCrae and D'Ambrosio. Cedar Crest evened the score, 1-1 two minutes later before the Knights went on a 7-0 run continuing until the end of the half. Junior Kerri Sinclair (Chads Ford, PA/Unionville) came away with two goals in the period along with three from D'Ambrosio, two from DiCicco and one from Emily Kazaba (Claymont, DE/Brandywine) giving the Knigts a 8-1 lead at half. 

Five minutes into the second half, McKenna connected with junior Tiffany Baker (Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway Regional) for her first goal of her career. Freshman Joanne Cox (Bowie, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) was stifled by Cedar Crest's goalie on her first attempt to goal but quickly gathered her own rebound and was able to find the back of the net. DiCicco, and Kazaba would net one more for the Knights and D'Ambrosio would get two more of her own.

On the win, senior goalie Caitlin O'Shea (Springfield, PA/Springfield) was magnificent in goal tallying 14 saves.

O'Shea and the Knights are back in action Monday when they face off against Eastern University Monday at 3:30pm.
