Aston, PA- Three Neumann College seniors were honored in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference match-up against Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon on the final game to be played on Bruder fields in its current location. The teams were evenly matched throughout four quarters of play and two overtime periods. It wasn't until the seventy-first minute when Junior Charles Rudolf stormed around the Mac's crease and fired in the game winning goal.  

Neumann opened the scoring early in the first period when senior captain Jack Winn floated a pass to Matt Toth. Toth let his shot rip past Immaculata keeper Andrew Sim for his lone goal of the game. The Mighty Mac's went ahead of the Knights on two goals from Tom Hartney but Neumann responded with three of their own from Kevin Kelly, Brian Capone and Justin Mailloux.

The teams traded goals back and forth but Neumann would take the lead on a four goal run just seven minutes into the second period. The Knights were up 12-9 in the fourth period when Hartney gathered two more goals putting the Macs within one. Charles Rudolf got his first of the game put one past Sims for the 14-12 advantage.

With a minute and a half left in the game the Knights seemingly had the game sealed up but  after two failed clear attempts Neumann keeper Jake Boulay was pulled from his crease when Immaculata's defense was able to turn the ball over and score an open net goal pushing the score to 13-12. With 13 seconds left in the match the Mac's Zach Krytzer charged down the field for an unassisted goal forcing the contest into overtime.

Two periods of overtime would go by before either side was able to come up with the win. Chuck Rudolf came from the right side of the field finding a loose ball and finished the marathon match off for the Knights with a final score of 14-13.

On the win, Jake Boulay turned away 23 shots, Kyle Gardner tallied four goals, Justin Mailloux, Steve Lis and Charles Rudolf walked away with two each.  Matt Toth, Bryan Capon and Paul Schmeltzer each had one.

Today's game marks not only the seniors' and teams' finales but also the last game played on the field in its current location. Ground breaking for the Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development is up coming and the new facilities are to be opened in the fall of 2009.
